Information about the club and its history
Aalto University Production Engineering Students (VTK) was founded in 1967 when the Guild of Mechanical Engineering had too many students which weakened the activity of the guild. Thus, several clubs, like VTK were created in order to connect people within same major and boost the activity in the student life. The clubs remained as units under the Guild of Mechanical Engineering.
In the founding meeting, it was stated that the club’s main object was to act as a club for the students interested in production engineering in Helsinki University of Technology, to create an opportunity to connect the students to each other, and to improve their professional careers. Since its founding, the club has fulfilled its purpose with the proven recipe of excursions to companies both domestic and foreign, and events both academic and social. The success of the club is based on the great relationships to the school staff and the companies in the field of production engineering.
